The beauty spot-ters
A sure shot indicator of a person's growing popularity is when you see a massive growth in the number of search results that the internet throws up.
The Omanakuttan in Parvathy's name might be a bit of a tongue twister yet, but people are sure taking notice of it. From the grand moment when Parvathy made it as the First Runners up at the Miss World, to when she's won the Miss India World (PFMI 2008), back to when she won the Miss India South (PFMIS 2008) in this very city, people want to know about this newest face of Indian beauty.

At this moment, when everyone's talking about this 21-year old 5 feet 8 -inch beauty from Kottayam, we speak to those who'd spotted the talent in the very first place, exactly a year ago, at the Miss India South held in Hyderabad.
Sanjeev Gupta, director of an e-learning company, and one of the judges at the Miss India South last year, says, "Even then, Parvathy clearly stood out as the best. With her confidence and style, she was way above the rest of the competition. It was a pleasant surprise to see her do so well at the Miss World, and it certainly feels nice to think that you contributed, in whatever small way, to her being there."
Film director Mani Shankar, who was also a judge at the PFMIS, feels, "Parvathy had a positive impression on everyone at the judge's table. She had all the qualities to make a winner." However, it says a great deal of the meticulous grooming and effort that goes into the making of a Miss India World, when Mani also points out, "The Parvathy we see now has improved in leaps and bounds from the Parvathy we had seen back then. We saw the semi-polished gem who's worked hard to make herself better." He, however, feels Paravthy was certainly good enough to win the Miss World was says he's upset she didn't make it there.

Pinky Reddy, social worker and another judge at the PFMIS 2008, says, "I keep bumping into her whenever I'm in Mumbai. In fact, we even spoke the day she was leaving for the contest. She speaks well, and that's her forte. I'd asked her the final question in Hyderabad and she'd impressed us all with her answer. I think she's quite a people's person - it was she who reminded me that I asked her the question. She's obviously worked on herself and also had the best people to work with."
Smita Shroff, owner of a fashion boutique in Hyderabad, however, had the opportunity of interacting with Parvathy at a later stage, after she'd been crowned Miss India World 2008, invited her for an event. "In the brief hour or so for which we met, she came across as a friendly and very confident person. She had no airs about her, and spoke casually and warmly with everyone at the store. It's the kind of personality that does take a person far."
